Autumn, Fall, Changing seasons

Fall has befallen us. A pretty time with less fog and milder days and crisper nights. It is a time where the Japanese maples give us hints of the glory of the leaves changing that happens in full riot elsewhere in the country. It is a beautiful time; the sunsets which have more clouds to reflect on, give us some of their best shows. Though time seems to quickly fade to dark and I don't like it,I shift things around a bit. The time change does little to help. It seems 5 o'clock or so now and it is dark. I hate that, but relish in the idea of another month or two the shortest day of the year will soon at hand. So what I am gleeful about then, is that from there on out, it means longer days. I don't have to feel like I should be hibernating. So fall is beautiful and change is good. Daily appreciation of the beauty around us is a good thing to practice too. I am hopeful of a good rainy winter, ideally at night, to get our natural resources in better shape. I am glad too that they are moving forward with the de-salinization pilot plant as well. We have many things to be thankful for and of living here in Santa Cruz county.
Santa Cruz County is blessed with a variety of climates. As you head south from Santa Cruz the temperature often drops 10-15 degrees. Head north to Bonny Doon or Felton and the climate gets another 10-40 degrees hotter depending on the time of year. If you want to search for homes you can easily do that at www.cacoastalhome.com and decide where you want to be. Call me to get a better idea of what you are looking for. A recent article in Forbes Traveler spoke of Highway 1 being one of the top 10 scenic drives of the world. Pretty heady stuff. Living in Santa Cruz one traverses it often, on the way to Monterey or even at times up to San Francisco. It is sure is pretty...

Santa Cruz is a beautiful town. If you were lucky enough to buy real estate here 3 decade ago is was slightly more affordable. Well, as with any lovely place, once it is discovered, the price goes up. What doesn't go away though, is the beauty that...
