Target is a store that most have a good feeling for. The City of Capitola has been pleased they are considering a store at the Capitola Mall,as their revenues have been dashed, like most cites that are funded by property and employment taxes. I think most consumers will be pleased to have them, as it was a sad day with the passage of the demise of Gottschalks.
While Capitola can benefit, the local job market improving will benefit all. While getting a job will not be a high dollar benefit to the community, it all helps. The new opening will help Capitola home owners furnish and refurbish their homes and provide local jobs. Think of it, retail jobs, construction jobs, employment tax, permit fees.
