Alzheimers Santa Cruz Memory Walk a good time and a great event in Seascape.... still time to donate too!
Posted by Gregg Camp on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 at 9:03am.The Alzheimers Memory Walk in Santa Cruz was held at Seascape. It was a lovely day and attended by about 500+ people. The day was sunny and the crowd resolute and engaging. This fun event had participants of all ages, which was great to see.
Starting off the march was no less than Dan Nicholas, a long term care insurance and seniors advocate leading the charge. Dan does alot in the senior community and that was how I met him as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist( SRES) working on issues such as this.
Kathleen McBurney did another great job with her staff and worked tirelessly and a big kudos to her!!!
Other notables in attenence was Barbara of Sunshine Villa of Santa Cruz which has a great memory care facility in Santa Cruz, with ocean views in some rooms no less!!
Also in attendance was Michelle Holland of Aegis of Aptos who also had a booth. She has a great facility in Aptos that is top rate if you have a loved in need in that area.
Also there with a booth was Tracy with Lifespan of Santa Cruz. She does a great job in the senior community. There were lots more and it was a wealth of information for those dealing with dementia and Alzheimers.
If you would care to donate to Alzheimers, you can do so on line or by mailing a check to Alzheimers Association c/o Gregg Camp 2170-41st Ave, Capitola, Ca 95010. Call 831-818-7524
Thanks for your support!!
Dan is there with the hat in the middle.
There were walkers of all ages, young and old. Here is my walking companion. Her mother operates Flor's Guest Home in Live Oak, which is a nice facility.
