Bettys' Burgers Santa Cruz- In and Out Burger-who stays and who goes in the buger wars ?

I was interested to read that Capitola In and Out Burger location that had been under discussion, has been rejected by In and Out Burger. The site did not have the zoning needed evidently on Bay Avenue, near Nob Hill.

That leaves the Bettys'Burgers on 41st the nearest burger joint, but the tourists zooming by the highway will miss out on knowing they are near by. There is a certain following for In and Out, that I personally don't share, but that is neither her nor there.

So who is your choice for best burger joint?

If you happen to live in a nearby Capitola home or Pleasure Point surf home you can walk or bike to dinner at the end of 41st Avenue, Santa Cruz, which seems to have become the de facto chill out relaxed place to eat in the Capitola and Live Oak area.

A number of restaurant choices for almost any taste can be found here all within an easy walk from one another. If you are in one of the Capitola hotels on 41st Ave, this will be a welcome choice as you can walk to dinner then have a nice stroll along East Cliff Drive and watch the surfers or waves and pelicans in Pleasure Point. Just as easy to get in your exercie with a walk to Capitola Village.
