How to Start Recycling At Your Capitola Real Estate

How to Start Recycling

There’s a saying that goes something along the lines of “we’re borrowing this planet from our children,” which, when you think about it, is very true. The trouble is, we don’t seem to be taking very good care of it, and when we do give it back, it’s not going to be in very good shape. At least not if we carry on the way we have been. So I think by now, most of us know we are on borrowed time, but what to do?

The average American, according to research, generates around twenty two pounds of garbage every day, most of which ends up in landfills, or in the ocean here in Capitola, Ca. If you’re interested in starting to recycle at your Capitola real estate, and giving your kids a planet that's worth having, then read on.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

The three golden rules of recycling, and one's that you'll need to start implementing at your Capitola real estate if you want to start making a difference. Let's look at each of these individually though, starting with reducing:

Recycle Bin

•Cut back on packaging. Do you really need to buy your fruit and vegetables in packaging?
•Are individually wrapped portions really that important to you?
•Could you not buy many items in bulk, economy size containers, and decant into glass or other containers?
•Think of simple things - like paper towels. Why not just use a cloth, and wash it?

All of these simple actions will help you to reduce the amount of packaging you use right off the bat, but look around for other ways to reduce packaging and garbage in your Capitola real estate. Now on to reuse.

•Invest in cloth grocery bags that you can reuse every time you shop. Just think of all those paper and plastic bags out there in landfills.
•Newspapers have hundreds of reuse ideas – from stretching new shoes to cleaning windows to paper mache art projects for the kids. If all you’re using newspapers for is the news, you’re wasting them! They are great in the garden or in a worm composting bin too.
•Vegetable peelings and other scraps can be frozen, and then cooked up into dog food that your puppies will love. Even the birds outside your Capitola real estate will appreciate your stale bread and fruit peels. Why not start a compost bin or put these in the green cycle cans?
•Reuse soda bottles to by turning them into scoops or temporary funnels in the garage. They can make inexpensive colorful birdfeeders the kids can make as gifts. Again, these are just a few of the ways you can reuse – in fact, every item you bring into your Capitola real estate should have more than one use! But, on to recycling in your home.
•Make sure that you separate your paper, plastic and aluminum out of your trash, and recycle them. Some cans take all, some need separation.
•Build a compost heap and turn your kitchen scraps into food for the garden of your Capitola real estate. Some municipalities will supply compost bins at cost, call and ask!
•Recycle grey water by using it in the garden. Keep a bucket in the kitchen for those half glasses of water that you would ordinarily throw down the drain.
•Instead of throwing old clothes, furniture or other household items that you no longer want, but that are still usable, donate them to charity – there are plenty of people out there who have very little, who would really appreciate what you consider garbage! You can also look for Freecycle clubs online to give to others.

Recycling, using less packaging and the first place, and being a little more careful about the environment in your Capitola real estate will go a long way to making the planet a better place. Remember, it’s all starts with one person, and that is you!
