If you happen to be a golf widow, this is a great way to get out and explore other regions of the Monterey Bay away from all the traffic of the ATT Pebble Beach Golf tournament. Rio Del Mar Beach is a favored area at the Santa cruz end of the bay. While the US is having terrible winter storms, this is how some people spend their February in California. Thinking of a Rio Del Mar Beach house to getaway too or a Carmel ocean view cottage? Check some out.

Carmel Eco Friendly homes may find things hard with new hi-tech cement from Celera

Carmel Eco-Friendly homes

As I was thinking about some of the Carmel eco-friendly homes I have seen, I started to think about an interesting company. It is located in the tiny seaside town of Moss Landing and is named Calera. This innovative company is working to create eco-friendly cement. The location is adjacent to the Dynegy Moss Landing facility. Most of us know it by the massive twin towers as we look around the Monterey Bay.The Moss Landing power plant runs on natural gas, which while cleaner than the oil PG&E used to burn still gives off lots of CO-2. That is where Calera in part comes in.

Calera has been testing its technology at its plant in Moss Landing, across the street for the last 3 years. The startup company has garnered tens of millions…

Carmel, California: Dog Friendly to the Nth Degree

I’ve been travelling a lot and because I’m a dog person, I’ve been traveling with my dog. I know all about eating only at the drive through window because it’s too hot to leave the dog in the car. I know all about walking past museums and shops and restaurants instead of walking inside because my dog is with me. I know all about renting rooms in motels that are “dog friendly” (read: dirty) because the better chains turn up their noses at my four footed child. She’s small and clean and well groomed and well mannered, but that makes no difference. She’s out.   Carmel man and dog www.cacoastalhome.com We’ve been travelling because we’re looking to move. We’ve looked at real estate from Maine to Texas to Arizona and we finally arrived in…

Solar Lighting Can Help Secure Your Carmel Property

There are two things on the minds of many homeowners across California: home security and energy bills. If you add a large number of electric security lights, your energy bill will get out of hand in no time. The best solution to both problems is to install solar security lights around your Carmel property. Here are a few tips on the placement of security lights and some estimates on how much you can save per year.

Installing solar security lighting around your Carmel property is not limited to the large spotlights that most people associate with security lighting. That does not mean you should ignore placing the floodlights at each corner of your home, and near entrance ways. What it means…

Monterey Foreclosures and short sale homes-opportunities abound for a great deal

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 at 4:28pm. 340 Views, 2 Comments.

Monterey real estate has never looked so good from a buyers perspective. Great selection and fantastic financing go along with some Monterey foreclosures. Short sales are part of the landscape too that a buyer needs to consider.

Find Montrey foreclosures and short sales at www.cacoastalhome.com

As you can tell, homes of all price ranges come up as Monterey foreclosures or short sales. The above is a short sale and is I think a great value for a Monterey Ocean front home. What we are finding is that banks in all areas are pursuing doing short sales over foreclousures in many cases. For them it is a cheaper way of cleaning up their mistakes and better for the person who has the home, in many ways. Monterey forelcosures are a better way to buy for the Monterey home buyer

The choices are varied the opportunities…
