Get in shape - follow the trails to the S.F.B. Morse Botanical Reserve in the hills of the Del Monte Forest in Pebble Beach. This 86-acre woodland oasis was referred to as “Evolution Hill” and was nearly destroyed in the 1960s if not for the intervention of California Native Plant Society established by G. Ledyard Stebbins – a botanist and geneticist and widely known as evolutionary biologists of the 20th century.

The SFBeerFest is an event annually to celebrate things beer. Mmm good. Lots of regional pairings of beer with different foods. This event goes from SF down the the Santa Cruz area and in many parts of the bay area.
There are major local breweries as well as many smaller local ones participating in this event. Check out some of the places below for food and a great beer. These are always fun, and some of the brewers produce specialty beers for just this event, which is really great.

Santa Cruz is hosting the 37th annual Fungus Fair.
Read more about the Santa Cruz Fungus Fair details at their site for the specific activites this weekend. The Fungus Fair is hosted by The Fungus Federation of Santa Cruz, at the Louden Nelson Community Center Friday through Sunday. If you want to find wild mushrooms on your own Carmel Valley ranch, then you can do your Carmel Valley real estate search.Learn about them at this great event. Don't rush out and pick and eat, have an expert identify before you eat as many have had tragic consequences.
Mushrooms are one of those gastronomical delights that at first ( or maybe always) seem like something from another planet, yet offer great texture and subtle tastes. There is so much variety, but most are…
Bettys' Burgers Santa Cruz- In and Out Burger-who stays and who goes in the buger wars ?
Sunday, June 20th, 2010 at 11:29am. 994 Views, 0 Comments.
I was interested to read that Capitola In and Out Burger location that had been under discussion, has been rejected by In and Out Burger. The site did not have the zoning needed evidently on Bay Avenue, near Nob Hill.
That leaves the Bettys'Burgers on 41st the nearest burger joint, but the tourists zooming by the highway will miss out on knowing they are near by. There is a certain following for In and Out, that I personally don't share, but that is neither her nor there.
So who is your choice for best burger joint?
If you happen to live in a nearby Capitola home or Pleasure Point surf home you can walk or bike to dinner at the end of 41st Avenue, Santa Cruz, which seems to have become the de facto chill out relaxed place to eat in the Capitola and…
Pebble Beach Food and Wine Event- Pebble Beach homeowners have a festival of impressive proportions to match estates
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 at 12:32am. 383 Views, 0 Comments.
The Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival is a real neophyte in the world of festivals. Three years does not make an event, unless you are in Pebble Beach. Golf history is made here, the world is enamored of the natural beauty of the location.
So why would an event only 3 years old have such a following? As you can imagine, what is done at Pebble Beach is top notch, world class. So having a food and wine event with the plethora of the natural agricultural and viticultural bounty of Montery County and California would be a spectactular place to do it.
While the Pebble Beach homes will be mere bystanders for this event, I am sure many will be rented to the high roller crowd, the top chefs such as Wolfgang Puck,Mark Ayers, Tyler Florence,Thomas…
Santa Cruz stormy weather: Santa Cruz Spas and Stoves the place to keep warm in stormy weather in your Santa Cruz home
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 at 1:47pm. 266 Views, 0 Comments.
The stormy weather reminds me of the fun and excitement that winter brings here to Santa Cruz, Ca.Real estate owners have some concern as the storms cause unexpected havoc. While storm can be a blessing, they can be a curse too.
The Santa Cruz home buyers I have represented recently have had their roof's and gutters inspected or replaced as necessary. Cleaning out the gutters of your Santa Cruz home is important so they don't fill up and overflow and sometimes cause ceiling damage from water intrusion back into the home.I am sure that many will check their water drainage systems to see how they can be made functional again. Windy storms can plug up drains with leaves, branches can fall and take out gutters, and drains can get clogged on the ground, and if…
Brr..... All Santa Cruz real estate is frozen stiff... including down by the beach in Rio Del Mar, beach homes
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at 1:56pm. 291 Views, 0 Comments.
Man it has been cold lately. The past two days I woke up to a frozen car. Inside the temperature guage says a balmy 31 degrees. Looks like a winter wonderland I would expect in Tahoe or someplace.
If you are thinking it is bad, I guess you could be in Detroit or Chicago and then it would not warm up during the day too much. I personally think it is sort of nice, though brisk. You can still take a walk on the beach and look at Capitola Beach homes as they sit perched on the bluffs overlooking Opal Cliffs. To see homes in Capitola or other Capitola real estate that may make for a nice vantage point to view the homes in Capitola or the homes in Rio Del Mar overlooking the beach, you can search here and learn more.
Rio Del Mar is a pretty sight from…
Capitola Beach smoking ban spreads; Capitola beach restaurants join, are homes next?
Thursday, November 26th, 2009 at 4:48pm. 349 Views, 0 Comments.
Captola Beach Smoking Ban extends range
While the ban on smoking on the beach in Capitola has been in effect for awhile, the city council took divided action to enact a smoking ban in the majority of the touristy parts of Capitola.Homes are still a safe haven for the addicted, but the outdoor and indoor smoking bans are becoming more common.
While Capitola real estate is largely unaffected by such a ban, there is undeniable dislike from the buying public in general for homes that have been occupied by smokers. For those who come to the beach to relax or enjoy a meal, smelling smoke is an unpleasant experience.
The areas that will be affected are the general downtown areas of the Capitola esplanade, starting from near the Venetians, and around to…
