Get in shape - follow the trails to the S.F.B. Morse Botanical Reserve in the hills of the Del Monte Forest in Pebble Beach. This 86-acre woodland oasis was referred to as “Evolution Hill” and was nearly destroyed in the 1960s if not for the intervention of California Native Plant Society established by G. Ledyard Stebbins – a botanist and geneticist and widely known as evolutionary biologists of the 20th century.

Capitola Christmas Tree Lighting
Capitola is a great place to vacation. It is a fun place for the family on Christmas too. Capitola Village is fun because they decorate all the palm trees up with lights and it is really pretty.
Capitola is going to do their annual Christmas Tree lighting on Friday, December 3rd at 5:30. Go downtown and it is going to happen at the corner of Capitola and Stockton Avenue. The Capitola Village Holiday Tree Lighting event is sute to be fun as most all things in Capitola are. Dress warmly!
The Shoreline Middle School will sing for you ( all together now) and refreshments will be provided. Heck make a night of it and take the family out for dinner while you are there. I always enjoy eating out on the Capitola Wharf as it…

Santa Cruz homes of distinction
Santa Cruz is one of those towns that has some great homes in hidden locations. While it does not have the breadth of some of the great Carmel homes, the ones that do usually have larger lots. This home has a great tucked away setting on this hill side. It has great views and lots of character.
This Santa Cruz Tudor has soo much charm it oozes. This is a location where you can walk to town, feel above it all, yet have a home with a nice blend of the old and new. Much of the old bathrooms original tile has been kept, which is pretty.
You can find more about this home and other quality properties such as these Santa Cruz homes as well as other fine properties including the great Carmel homes at the other end of…

The Circles Santa Cruz Neighborhood on the West Side.
In its
long and varied history, Santa Cruz, CA has been many things to many
people. Beginning with the founding of the city in 1796 that joined a
Spanish Catholic mission and a military garrison, the city has played
host and home to a unique array of adventurers, immigrants, and those
simply seeking the multifaceted beauty of this central CA coast city.
Its central state location, in fact, had a great deal to do with its
choice as a state convention meeting location for religious groups.
In 1875, the Methodists established Pacific Grove as a religious
retreat and the site of their state conventions. Based on the success
of the Methodists’ Pacific Grove community, Santa Cruz began…
Pebble Beach Food and Wine Event- Pebble Beach homeowners have a festival of impressive proportions to match estates
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 at 12:32am. 381 Views, 0 Comments.
The Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival is a real neophyte in the world of festivals. Three years does not make an event, unless you are in Pebble Beach. Golf history is made here, the world is enamored of the natural beauty of the location.
So why would an event only 3 years old have such a following? As you can imagine, what is done at Pebble Beach is top notch, world class. So having a food and wine event with the plethora of the natural agricultural and viticultural bounty of Montery County and California would be a spectactular place to do it.
While the Pebble Beach homes will be mere bystanders for this event, I am sure many will be rented to the high roller crowd, the top chefs such as Wolfgang Puck,Mark Ayers, Tyler Florence,Thomas…

There seems to be so much hype these days about hybrid cars and their
advantages as an alternative to standard gasoline-powered vehicles. The
media puts so much attention into newer gasoline/electric hybrid cars
like the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight, touting them as if they were
something revolutionary. The truth of the matter is that Americans have
had a viable alternative for decades--the natural gas-powered vehicle
(NGV).
What is a Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV)?
A natural gas vehicle (NGV) is an alternative fuel vehicle making use
of either compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG)
as its fuel source. NGVs are generally classified into two broad
categories: dedicated and bi-fuel. Dedicated NGVs can only operate on
natural…

Maybe you’ve just bought an East Santa Cruz home, or maybe you’ve lived there for years. Chances are, at some point, you’re going to want to hire a contractor to work on something, and when you do, these tips should help you get more bang for your buck:

•Have the contractors who quote you split their material and labor costs – that way, if necessary, you can find your own materials at discount stores or from clearance sales, and save on the material cost.
•Make the job as easy as possible for your contractor. If you can, let them use your water or power, and let them know at the start of the quote process that you aim to do that – if you don’t,…
