Top Artists to Perform on the 20th Annual Santa Cruz Blues Festival

The 20th Annual Santa Cruz Blues Festival will again showcase the music genres of rock 'n' roll, classical, folk and traditional, and blues in a series of live performances by top artists of the 70's and now.

Seasoned bands, soloists and guitarists playing mixed rock, blues, and country will show off their talents for two days at this annual festival.
The top artists scheduled to perform on the first day of the 20th Annual Santa Cruz Blues Festival on May 26, 2012:
The Doobie Brothers. This American rock band whose name was derived from "doobies" the slang for marijuana cigarettes, has already sold a whooping 40 million albums worldwide. They will be playing their hits classics such as "Listen To The Music," "China Grove," "Takin' It To The Streets," "Jesus Is Just Alright," "Black Water," "You Belong To Me," "What A Fool Believes," "Minute by Minute"
Los Lobos (the Wolves). A multiple Grammy award winning rock band from East Los Angeles, California will entertain crowds with a healthy dose of rock ‘n’ roll mixed with tex-mex, country, folk, R & B, blues, brown-eyed soul and Spanish and Mexican music.
Joan Elizabeth Osborne. This American singer songwriter makes her name known on the music industry on the strength of her single “One of Us”. Her latest album entitled “Bring It On Home”, a collection of classical blues and soul was released on March 27, 2012.
Big Sam's Funky Nation. This band has the ability to rouse any audience to its feet with its signature dance moves and unique trombone.
Artists to perform on Sunday, May 27, 2012:
Johnny Lang. His extraordinary voice and guitar prowess helped him grab a Grammy Award. This American songwriter, guitarist and gospel, blues and rock singer is also known for his use of vibratos – an effect in music where a regular, pulsating change of pitch is used as an added expression to vocal and instrumental sound.
Los Lonely Boys. This American trio from San Angelo, Texas whose music is a combination of Texican rock n’ roll, blues, brown eyed soul, country and Tejano will 'wow' crowds from all walks of life.
Elvin Bishop and James Cotton. Elvin Bishop will perform alongside with James Cotton. These two singers will be bringing with them their undeniable talent. Elvin Bishop’s “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” single ultimately hit the no. 3 spot in the US Billboard and landed no. 34 in the UK charts. James Cotton is a well-loved harmonica player in the blues world.
Coco Montoya together with Jimmy Thackery and Michael Burks. These three talented American blues singers are also great guitarists. They have developed some charismatic power to pull in audiences. Coco Montoya is good in playing the guitar using both his left and right hands. He plays “upside-down right handed” guitar.
20 years since the first Annual Santa Cruz Blues Festival on May 30, 1993, the Aptos Village Park located at 100 Aptos Creek Rd., Aptos, California 95003 continue headlining music festivals, memorable weddings, fun picnics and other exciting events all through the spring and summertime.
