Homes for Sale in Pacific Grove
When looking for homes for sale in Pacific Grove, one of the first questions on the mind of potential buyers is the quality of education. The Pacific Grove Unified School District is ranked overall as the highest of all public schools on the Monterey Peninsula. The 6th largest city in Monterey County, Pacific Grove also has the lowest crime rate. In fact, it is the probably the only city in the U.S. where it is illegal to molest a monarch butterfly. There is a simple explanation for that ordinance. Pacific Grove is known as “Butterfly Town U.S.A.,” being the site for the annual migration of the monarch butterfly who call Pacific Grove home each winter. Thousands of Monarch butterflies cluster together on the pines and eucalyptus on a few select acres in Pacific Grove. The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is open during the wintering season from late October through early-March.

Victorian Ocean View homes
Some Victorian homes have been converted to inns, which could
serve
as
a weekend retreat or a place to stay while you search for your Pacific
Grove home. In fact, the Pacific Grove municipality encourages the
renovation of these older homes, and under certain circumstances,
provides 3% loans which are only due at the time of sale of the home.
Victorian homes are a beautiful real estate investment. Some Victorian
homes have fabulous ocean views as well as natural beauty in design.
Victorian homes in Pacific Grove come in a wealth of sizes and colors.
Pacific Grove is home to the oldest operating lighthouse on the west
coast, its warning beacon having flashed nightly as a guide to ships
plying the waters off the rocky California coast. Today it serves as a
symbol for a delightful town with an unparalleled quality of life. Pacific Grove
offers homes with breathtaking ocean views, excellent education and
plentiful recreational activities. Celebrating Pacific Grove’s
family-friendly atmosphere and laid-back ambiance is easy during the
city's annual Good Old Days celebration, held in April. It reflects a
gentler, slower, bygone era, with a vintage fashion show, fireman's
muster and old-fashioned parade. Other favorite events include
December's Christmas at the Pacific Grove Inns, a holiday celebration
at Pacific Grove hotels and bed and breakfast inns.
Summer brings
the Feast of Lanterns, a pageant based on a Chinese folk tale. In its
early history, Pacific Grove was a thriving Chinese fishing village. The
autumn Butterfly Parade heralds the return of the monarch butterflies,
which migrate to spend each winter in the pine groves. Also in October,
there is a Pacific Grove home tour of the beautifully restored
Victorian homes. It's a celebration for history and architecture buffs
and is usually sold-out. Make sure to book your Pacific Grove Inn or
hotel early.
So, if you are looking for homes for sale in Pacific Grove, you will
find a small town atmosphere with an unparalleled quality of life,
sandy beaches and breathtaking ocean views. All those make Pacific
Grove real estate an excellent choice in a town that is welcoming, safe
and diverse.
