Garland Ranch Regional Park was established in 1975. This 4,462-acre park region includes the Carmel River, Garzas Creek, a redwood canyon and a charming waterfall. There is free parking along the road and hiking trails varying from easy to strenuous. The park is a popular horseback riding area with most trails open. It is great for birdwatching as well as geocaching. There is some mountain bike riding permitted in the Cooper Ranch Loop.Garland Ranch Regional Park has off-leash areas for dogs to roam and is a popular Carmel Valley dog-friendly hiking area.
